< noan_> phadej, IT IS ALWAYS A GODDAMN TYPO // story of my life
noan_ 2017-02-03 00:45:12
er, from the browser*. Thus it looks right.
noan_ 2017-02-03 00:47:06
I was trying to find a t-shirt where it's the process of figuring out things and in the middle there's "what am I doing with my life" and at the end "oh it's a typo". Couldn't find it. Found this though.

I have gone through this process at my old job SO MANY TIMES. One thing was owing to weird behaviour on chrome, so for everyone else it worked fine, but I developped on firefox so it didn't.
noan_ 2017-02-03 00:47:43
But I'd seen it work
noan_ 2017-02-03 00:47:57
There was another stage on the process... "oh... it never worked."
Theophane 2017-02-03 00:51:02
noan_: I feel ya >_>
noan_ 2017-02-03 00:53:51
and then I was looking at shirts instead of working... heh. "alias yolo=git push --force". Brace yourself repo. we're going in dry.
markus3 2017-02-03 00:53:57
hi! Is it possible to pass custom flags to stack repl
markus3 2017-02-03 00:54:11
i.e the custom flags you define yourself in the cabal file
merijn 2017-02-03 00:54:57
markus3: What are these flags doing that you need to control them?
markus3 2017-02-03 00:55:32
I have another main which uses the rapid package
markus3 2017-02-03 00:55:37
merijn:
Theophane 2017-02-03 00:56:49
noan_: in the [alias] section of your ~/.gitconfig
Theophane 2017-02-03 00:56:51
yolo = !git commit -m \"$(curl -s whatthecommit.com/index.txt)\"
Theophane 2017-02-03 00:56:54
:) :) :)
noan_ 2017-02-03 00:57:26
Theophane, you sir... are a special kind of evil.
Theophane 2017-02-03 00:57:39

noan_ 2017-02-03 00:58:18
I have no idea how to type the reflexive accent on this keyboard.

noan_ 2017-02-03 00:58:46

noan_ 2017-02-03 00:58:50

Theophane 2017-02-03 01:00:04
Québecois have their special slang, and I find it awesome ^^
merijn 2017-02-03 01:04:15
bleh, don't you hate it when two really similar things refuse to simply generalise into a single generic version without duplicating code? :\
ocharles 2017-02-03 01:05:23
merijn: no, because it teaches me something fundamental that I missed :)
merijn 2017-02-03 01:05:52
ocharles: In what way?
ocharles 2017-02-03 01:06:21
Well, if you had the assumption that two things could be simplified into one, that there is something you didn't know about the data. That thing is stopping you simplifying, so it's taught you something
ocharles 2017-02-03 01:06:34
Now you can go looking and see if that something is essential or accidental, and maybe it can be moved somewhere else
ocharles 2017-02-03 01:06:44
I can only hand wave not knowing anything more about your problem
merijn 2017-02-03 01:08:00
ocharles: I'm submitting some patches to xml-conduit to fix some gaps in the API, my desired functionality is really similar to the existing combinators, but not so much that I can easily turn them into a generalised version that can do both, and I hate duplicating code
Mamemaki 2017-02-03 01:17:00
What do people think of Netwire vs Reactive-Banana for FRP?
Mamemaki 2017-02-03 01:17:31
I'm learning Netwire now, it's pretty tough
liste 2017-02-03 01:24:44
Mamemaki: I have good experiences with reactive-banana, have tried netwire a bit but it didn't seem appropriate for my use case (updating UI based on user input)
liste 2017-02-03 01:25:34
Mamemaki: netwire is pull-only, reactive-banana is push-pull
Arguggi 2017-02-03 01:26:07
anyone know if anything haskell related is happening at FOSDEM this weekend?
Mamemaki 2017-02-03 01:26:24
liste: What does that mean? I've seen in mentioned before
liste 2017-02-03 01:27:26
Mamemaki: http://stackoverflow.com/q/26164135
sm 2017-02-03 01:27:49
Mamemaki: see also yesterday's discussion by ertes in channel log
Mamemaki 2017-02-03 01:41:17
liste: So I read the chat logs from yesterday. Interesting disucssion. What I've gathered is that Netwire is best for realtime simulations and games, but the arrow notation is awkward. Is this the main takeaway?
ocharles 2017-02-03 01:43:16
Mamemaki: I love reactive-banana and have done realtime stuff with it
Mamemaki 2017-02-03 01:43:19
liste: People seem to say good things about Reactive-banana, but mainly for GUI type work. Is it worth trying to use it if I want to make a simulation/game, or should I stick with Netwire
ocharles 2017-02-03 01:44:34
