Anyone know how to interpret this error? "Stack space overflow: current size 33568 bytes."
fizbin 2017-02-17 19:13:51
Specifically, what's up with that number 33568 in there? I ran the program with +RTS -K8M
jle` 2017-02-17 19:17:46
fizbin: you should interpret it as a sign that you might be using an outdated GHC
fizbin 2017-02-17 19:18:19
How outdated? I'm apparently using 8.0.1
jle` 2017-02-17 19:18:24
oh, hm
jle` 2017-02-17 19:18:32
those things happened all the time with 7.6
jle` 2017-02-17 19:18:50
haven't seen that since
fizbin 2017-02-17 19:19:07
"those" being what? stack overflows in general, or ones where the numbers given make no sense?
jle` 2017-02-17 19:19:20
stack space overflows like that yes
jle` 2017-02-17 19:19:30
and the numbers are consistent with the kind of ones we got back then
fizbin 2017-02-17 19:27:35
Also, the stack trace -xc shows for where I'm getting the stack overflow makes no sense.
spear2 2017-02-17 19:28:34
hi all, does anyone know what is meant by a "linear type constructor" ? a constructor of a linear type, or it's some other meaning?
